A leading company in the technology sector is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their Payments Engineering team.
In this role, you'll be working with cutting-edge technology to enable a Cloud Journey. You'll be part of the Platform Core team, responsible for managing Infrastructure as Code and ensuring the optimal performance of business web applications, APIs, and backend services.
Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management: Set up and administer Kubernetes clusters and manage Kafka infrastructure in a geo-distributed setup.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Manage Cloud Infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, with a focus on AWS services like EC2, ALBs, VPC, and EKS.
- Platform Development: Build Infrastructure Platforms as self-service for developers and provide guidance and tooling for cross-environment application management.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve platforms based on business needs, analyzing and solving issues related to efficiency, performance, and scale.
- Monitoring and Scripting: Utilize open-source monitoring tools like Prometheus/Grafana and write scripts in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
- Linux Management: Experience in using and managing Linux distributions.
Requirements:
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge in Kubernetes administration, Kafka infrastructure management, and Cloud Infrastructure via Terraform.
- Cloud Services Proficiency: Experience with AWS services and building scalable, distributed infrastructure.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to analyze complex technical issues.
- Best Practices Knowledge: Understanding of ITIL and DevOps principles.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technologies and work in a dynamic environment.
- On-call Support: Willingness to be on an on-call support schedule.
